COVID CLUB OPERATIONS AND TENNIS PLAYING RULES

EFFECTIVE APRIL 2022

**These COVID rules take precedence over existing Kew General Rules and Online Booking Rules.  Where a conflict exists with pre-existing rules, these COVID-19 Rules shall take precedence. There will be zero tolerance for willful disregard of these rules and any / all direction provided by club monitors**

Anyone who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or has had close contact with a confirmed case cannot enter a community tennis club.

  • All tennis players should be aware of signs and symptoms of COVID-19, including: 

    • Fever or chills

    • Cough 

    • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath 

    • Sore throat or trouble swallowing 

    • Decrease or loss of taste or smell

    • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

    • Not feeling well, extremely tired, or sore muscles 

    • Pink eye or headache 

  • Your risk of severe disease may be higher if you have a weakened immune system. This may be the case for: 

    • Seniors

    • People with chronic disease such as diabetes, cancer, heart, renal or chronic lung disease

COMING TO PLAY AT KEW

**Online Bookings Only**

UPON ARRIVAL:

  • Show photo ID if you have not uploaded a clear profile photo to your Kew online account 

    • To upload a photo click on View/Update My Profile, then under Photo click Choose File, add a JPEG file of your photo, click Save at the bottom of the page. 

    • Please ensure your photo is a clear upclose image of your face for monitors to easily identify members (preferably a headshot photo and no group or action photos). 

    • If having issues uploading a photo ask a Club Monitor on duty or contact info@kewgardenstennis.ca

  • Hard and clay courts will be staggered

    • Hard courts will be booked on the HALF HOUR (starting at 8:30am)

    • Clay courts will be booked on the HOUR (starting at 8am)

  • Singles and Doubles allowed.

  • The clubhouse is OPEN. Mask wearing is recommended

  • Bikes will be allowed to be locked inside the club (at bike rack) - once the entrance area is completed and the bike racks installed.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • A can of balls - Balls will also be for sale at the club 

  • Filled water bottle - Drinks will also be for sale at the club and we will have a water cooler

  • When leaving the court, please remove all items (used balls, drink containers, etc.) and dispose of them in the trash bins next to the clubhouse.

 

BATHROOM USE

  • Only members and guests of members can use the washroom.

  • Wipes will be in each washroom and members are encouraged to spray touch points after use. 

AFTER PLAY:

  • All bookings will be 55 min in length. A bell will be rung 5 minutes prior to the end of your playing time. If you have booked two hours of play, continue. Otherwise, immediately stop playing, grab your gear and any garbage and head for the exits.
